Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Los Angeles is seeking an ROI Specialist to process release of information requests (medical records and billing) in a high-volume, on-site setting. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1+ year of customer service, and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

You will ensure privacy, HIPAA compliance, and deliver top-quality service during 8:00 am–4:30 pm PST, with occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED.
• Must be 18 years of age OR older.
• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• Ability to create, edit, save, and send documents utilizing Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work full-time onsite at Los Angeles facility.
• Ability to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm PST, Mon-Fri; overtime may be necessary.

Responsibilities

• Processing all release of information (ROI) requests, specifically medical record, and billing requests, in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ensure accuracy and provide clients and customers with high-quality product and customer service.
• Safeguard patient privacy; ensure access is limited to authorized individuals; maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Engage in direct customer service and present a positive image of the ROI department.
• Promote positive customer relations through prompt and courteous service.
• Review requests for validity and provide feedback on non-valid PHI requests; coordinate with requestors as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of state laws, CPS rules, and hospital policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
