Job summary

Powers Health is seeking a supervisor to oversee the release of information within the Health Information Management department. You will ensure timely, accurate, and secure processing of protected health information in compliance with HIPAA and state regulations.

The role requires leadership for daily ROI operations, processing requests, validating authorizations, and monitoring work queues, striving for high quality, productivity, and customer service while handling sensitive disclosures.

Qualifications

• Associate degree is required; RHIT or RHIA credential preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Administration or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years HIM or medical records experience with ROI experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or lead experience.
• RHIT or RHIA credentials.
• Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and related regulations.
• Experience handling complex requests and sensitive disclosures.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and oversight of ROI release within the HIM department.
• Ensure timely, accurate, and secure processing of PHI requests per HIPAA and regulations.
• Lead daily ROI operations, process medical record requests, validate authorizations, monitor work queues.
• Maintain high standards of quality, productivity and customer service.
