Job summary

Charles River Laboratories in Dixon, CA is seeking an Animal Care Technician II to join the Insourcing Solutions team. The role focuses on animal care, health monitoring, and strict adherence to AAALAC standards and client SOPs.

Responsibilities include daily animal health observations, husbandry duties, recordkeeping, and using tablet devices for data entry. Requires education/experience combos as listed. AALAS ALAT certification highly regarded.

Qualifications

HS/GED and 1 year directly related lab animal experience.
AA/AS and 6 months directly related lab animal experience.
BA/BS in animal or life sciences, no experience required.
Certification/Licensure: AALAS certification at the ALAT level preferred

Responsibilities

Monitor daily animal health and welfare while performing daily health observations.
Maintain accurate records of animal breeding, health, and housing.
Provide daily service to researchers to ensure study animals receive medicated diet and/or water as per protocol.
Record animal health concerns per SOP and/or specified protocols.
Utilize tablet devices for data entry and reporting.
