Charles River Insourcing Solutions in Dixon, CA seeks an Animal Care Technician II to join the Insourcing Solutions team. The role covers animal health monitoring, husbandry, and documentation per AAALAC standards and SOPs.

You will observe health, perform daily husbandry tasks, and ensure proper housing for research rodents. Responsibilities include daily health observations, cage changes, feeding, record-keeping, and assisting with rodent handling.

Qualifications

• HS/GED and 1 year directly related lab animal experience.
• AA/AS and 6 months directly related lab animal experience.
• BA/BS in animal or life sciences, no experience required.
• Certification/Licensure: AALAS certification at the ALAT level preferred
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without a sponsor visa, now or in the future

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily animal health and welfare using a tablet device.
• Perform animal husbandry duties to maintain quality and health of research animals.
• Record animal health concerns per SOP and documented protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of animal breeding, health and housing.
• Assist with restraint, handling and manipulation of rodents as needed.
• Use software to track animals, census and cage cards.
• Provide daily service to researchers to ensure study animals receive medicated diet and/or water and other housing requests.

Education

HS/GED and 1 year directly related lab animal experience.

AA/AS and 6 months directly related lab animal experience.

BA/BS in animal or life sciences, no experience required

AALAS ALAT certification preferred

Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
