Job summary

Shelby Erectors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Reinforcing Ironworker / Rodbuster to join our Florida bridge and highway crews. You will handle reinforcing steel on footings, columns, decks, barriers, and other structural components, reading drawings to ensure builds meet specifications.

Qualifications

Shelby Erectors is looking for experienced Reinforcing Ironworkers / Rodbusters to join our bridge and highway construction crews across Florida.

Your Role as a Rodbuster

As a Reinforcing Ironworker / Rodbuster, you'll play a critical role in the construction of major bridge and highway projects. You'll work with reinforcing steel on footings, columns, decks, barriers, and other structural components--helping ensure every project is built strong, safe, and to specification.

• Place, tie, and secure reinforcing steel according to project plans and specifications.
• Install rebar for footings, columns, decks, barriers, and other structural components.
• Read and follow construction drawings, rebar plans, and layout instructions.
• Work closely with your foreman and crew to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
• Use hand tools, equipment, and materials properly and safely.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Identify field issues and work with your crew to find practical solutions.
• Maintain a strong focus on quality, productivity, and jobsite safety.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Reinforcing Ironworker, Rodbuster, or similar construction role.
• Experience with rebar installation; bridge and highway experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and rebar plans.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
• Comfortable working outdoors in Florida weather and at heights.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Strong work ethic and a team-first attitude.
• Pride in craftsmanship and a willingness to learn and take on additional responsibility.
• NCCER certification is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

• $23.00 - $31.50 per hour, based on experience
• Higher pay available for NCCER-certified employees
