Job summary

Voyager Technologies in Penrose, CO, is seeking an Engineering Manager, Rockets to lead a multi-disciplinary team focused on solid rocket motor design, formulation, scale-up and production. You will report to the Director of Engineering in the Energetics group and help transition activities to Pueblo, CO, while ensuring safety, cost, and schedule objectives.

This onsite role requires leadership, rigorous technical standards, and collaboration across engineering, operations and program management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or a related field with 5+ years of hands-on solid rocket motor or propulsion engineering experience OR Master's degree with 3+ years OR 9+ years in lieu of a degree.
  • 15+ years of hands-on experience with solid rocket motor development and production, including oxidizer grinding, propellant formulation, grain design, mix/cast operations, and motor testing.
  • 5+ years leading projects of significant technical scope and complexity in a regulated or defense environment, with demonstrated success managing technical execution of complex propulsion programs.
  • 5+ years supervising high-performing engineering teams of 5+ engineers across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary engineering team across solid rocket motor design, propellant formulation, process scale-up, and production.
  • Drive engineering strategy, planning, and resource allocation to meet performance, cost, schedule, and quality objectives for production transitions.
  • Oversee development, review, and approval of engineering deliverables and ensure implementation of processes and best practices.
  • Represent the engineering organization in reviews and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and technical excellence.
