Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Huntsville, Alabama is seeking a skilled TIG welder to join the Manufacturing and Supply Chain support teams. You will perform welding on aluminum, steel, and alloys to exact tolerances and prepare surfaces for welding, following engineering drawings and specifications.

This role requires 3+ years of TIG welding experience, the ability to read blueprints, and basic GD&T knowledge, with a focus on quality control and metric measurements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years TIG welding experience.
• Understand blue print drawings and tolerances
• Basic GD&T knowledge

Responsibilities

• Performs welding processes on aluminum, steel, and alloy parts and assemblies to required tolerances using welding metals and metal alloys and precision blending using hand tools to prepare metallic surfaces for welding and non-destructive evaluation.
• Determines layouts and welds parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures.
• Joins metal parts to form a permanent bond.
• Welds metal components and parts using standard specialized equipment such as gas welders and gas torches and may also utilize friction stir welding (FSW) methods using solid-state joining.
• Uses electrical currents or friction to create heat and bond metals.
