Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL, is seeking skilled welders to join our aerospace fabrication team. You will perform TIG welding on aluminum, steel, and alloy parts and assemblies, interpret engineering drawings, and ensure weld quality to tight tolerances using precision measuring tools. Friction stir welding may be used on launch vehicle components.

Qualifications include at least 3 years TIG welding experience, ability to read blueprints and tolerances, and basic GD&T knowledge. U.S.

• Minimum 3 years TIG welding experience.
• Understand blue print drawings and tolerances.
• Basic GD&T knowledge.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as refugee or asylum.

Mansioni

• Performs welding processes on aluminum, steel, and alloy parts and assemblies to required tolerances using welding metals and metal alloys and precision blending using hand tools to prepare metallic surfaces for welding and non-destructive evaluation.
• Determines layouts and welds parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures.
• Joins metal parts to form a permanent bond and welds components using gas welders and torches; may utilize friction stir welding methods.
• Uses electrical currents or friction to create heat and bond metals.
• Observes tests on welded surfaces to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications.
• Set up and operate large, motion-controlled machines to create friction stir welds on launch vehicles.
• Perform periodic maintenance on machines with complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Accurately use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and torque wrenches.
