Blue Origin LLC in Huntsville, AL is hiring a Welder (all levels) to perform manual GTAW welding on aerospace-grade materials under supervision. You will read drawings, set up equipment, and participate in qualification testing as part of an early-phase manufacturing environment.

The role requires 0–10+ years of welding experience, ability to pass a welding test, and the willingness to learn from experienced welders while upholding safety standards in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• 0–10+ years of GTAW (TIG) welding experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or vocational training environments.
• Must read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and technical work instructions.
• Basic knowledge of GTAW fundamentals: joint types, filler metals, shielding gas, tungsten prep, and machine setup.
• Must pass a practical weld test (1G and 2G minimum) on carbon steel or stainless steel.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual GTAW (TIG) welding operations on aerospace components under supervision.
• Prepare weld joints by cleaning, fitting, tacking, and positioning parts per drawings.
• Set up GTAW equipment and select appropriate filler wire, tungsten, and shielding gas.
• Inspect welds visually and report defects to lead welder or QA.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and assist with fixture setup and teardown.
