Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking skilled welders for the Operations organization in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on TIG welding of aerospace stainless steels, aluminum, and Inconel, reading engineering drawings, and maintaining meticulous documentation while using precision hand tools and fabrication equipment.

The job requires safety-conscious work in an industrial aerospace setting, with responsibilities including tool design support, strip welding on flight hardware, and adherence to work

Qualifications

• Experience with TIG welding of aerospace stainless steels and aluminum, inconel alloys.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to document and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to use precision hand tools, standard mechanical tools, and fabrication shop equipment, also develop fixtures/tooling.
• Familiar with use of personal computers.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

• TIG welding aerospace stainless steel and inconel hardware, using manual and/or automatic equipment.
• Weld preparation including cutting, blending, chamfering, and cleaning parts.
• Design support and fabrication of tooling for welding and assembly.
• Communicate with engineers on design concepts, offering suggestions for improvements to the design.
• Perform Strip Welding and Installation on Flight Hardware.
• Review, edit and follow Work Instructions.
• Safely work within an industrial environment.
• Other Duties as assigned.
