Job Description Summary

Role Summary/Purpose : The Robotics Reliability & Maintenance Strategy Lead is a senior individual contributor responsible for defining, deploying, and continuously improving the maintenance strategy for all robotic and automated systems across Power Transmission's global manufacturing network. This role serves as the authoritative reference voice for maintenance topics toward all Power Transmission manufacturing sites.

Job Description Essential Responsibilities
  • Central Maintenance Strategy Definition Define and maintain Power Transmission standard maintenance strategy for each robotics and automation technology family deployed across the network: collaborative robots, industrial arms, AMRs/AGVs, automated storage, automated assembly cells
  • Embed maintenance requirements into the technical specifications for new automation projects from concept approval through FAT/SAT and ramp-up
  • Coordinate with other GE Vernova businesses to identify and share best practices and, where relevant, align with common standards
  • Site Support & Local Implementation Support Power Transmission manufacturing sites in translating the central maintenance strategy into local implementation plans adapted to their automation footprint, team maturity, and operational context
  • Act as a technical escalation resource for complex maintenance challenges across sites deploying new automation systems, with a specific focus on supporting the automated assembly line ramp-up at the Charleroi site.
  • Conduct site readiness assessments for maintenance capability ahead of new system deployments ensuring sites are equipped before go-live, not after
  • Capture and disseminate lessons learned from first-deployer sites to benefit the broader PT network
  • Workforce Capability Development Define the competency requirements for site-level maintenance roles associated with robotic and automated systems & develop standardized job profiles and skills matrices.
  • Design training pathways - initial qualification and ongoing upskilling - linked to specific automation technologies deployed in partnership HR, PT Academy, and external training providers to build scalable capability programs
  • Performance Measurement & Benefit Confirmation Define the standard methodology for measuring operational performance of automated systems: OEE, availability, MTBF, MTTR, cycle time adherence
  • Develop the framework for measuring and validating the benefit delta between new automated systems and the former manual operations they replace - in terms of productivity, quality, safety, and labor efficiency
  • Establish the PT-level KPI dashboard for robotics and automation asset performance
  • Ensure that business cases for automation investments include realistic Total Cost of Ownership modeling incorporating maintenance costs, spare parts, training, and lifecycle replacement, and that post-deployment actuals are tracked against projections
  • Continuous Improvement & Ecosystem Identify opportunities to evolve maintenance strategies toward predictive and condition-based approaches as OT/IT connectivity matures across the network
  • Contribute to the development of our Skills & Ecosystem, particularly to robotics maintenance training partnerships with universities and technical schools
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering - Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering - or equivalent technical field
  • Minimum 12 to 16 years of experience in industrial maintenance for Robotics & automation systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience defining or deploying maintenance strategies for robotic or automated equipment at scale, with multi-site or central function experience strongly preferred
  • Deep understanding of industrial robotics systems - collaborative robots, industrial arms, AGVs/AMRs, automated cells - and their specific maintenance requirements
  • Knowledge of OT/IT integration principles as they apply to condition monitoring and asset health management
  • Fluent English - written and spoken - mandatory
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally to PT manufacturing sites (20 -30 %)
  • Structured thinker with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into practical standards and training that sites can actually use
  • Strong influencing skills - able to drive adoption of standards without formal authority over site teams
  • Collaborative team player
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments is preferred
  • Familiarity with structured reliability methodologies
