Job summary

Figure, an AI robotics company in San Jose, CA, seeks a Test Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain automated testing infrastructure for Figure’s CI, Hardware in the Loop (HIL) and system-level validation environments. This role sits at the intersection of hardware, firmware, and software, ensuring every change is verified on real hardware.

You will develop test frameworks, pipelines, and tooling that power regression testing and continuous integration for the humanoid robot.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of test automation or embedded systems validation.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated test systems across embedded, electrical, and software interfaces.
• Develop Python-based frameworks and CLI tools to execute tests and generate reports.
• Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
• Bring up and validate new hardware and firmware builds.
• Collaborate with Systems, Firmware, and Software teams to define test coverage and validation flows.
• Diagnose and debug failures across hardware and software stacks.
• Manage data logging, result visualization, and traceability across runs.
• Contribute to scalable test frameworks and APIs for future platforms.
