The System Engineer plays a crucial role in the Amazon Robotics deployment team. They oversee the installation, troubleshooting, integration, and commissioning of Amazon Robotics equipment in new and existing fulfillment centers (FCs). This field engineering position demands strong technical skills in deploying robotic equipment, including mechanical systems, electrical work, networking, and software coordination. The ideal candidate has experience with complex electro-mechanical and network systems and demonstrates leadership in installation, maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
System engineers will work with a team of 1-5 engineers and collaborate with an on-site project manager to provide technical oversight during the installation of third-party and Amazon-designed robotics equipment. This role involves extensive collaboration with stakeholders such as third-party installers, engineers, construction teams, hardware, software, IT, and other partners. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with internal and external partners. The candidate must demonstrate initiative, problem-solving skills, and drive continuous improvement. This leadership role requires proven experience in leading work scopes and effective decision-making.
Deploying robotic systems across various project phases, candidates will develop process documentation and improve existing procedures. The role involves significant field work, travel across the US (up to 75%), and international opportunities. Valid US driver’s license required.
