Job summary

MRINetwork in San Francisco is seeking a Robot Systems Engineer to own the link between physical hardware and software platforms. This is a hands-on IC role focusing on integrating equipment, debugging across hardware and software, and supporting deployed systems in a fast-paced startup environment.

You will work across hardware, software, and ML teams to deploy robust robotics infrastructure. The role requires on-site presence six days per week and offers a competitive base salary with equity.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of embedded or systems engineering experience in hardware-software integration.
• Strong software engineering skills and hands-on hardware integration experience.
• Production deployment experience with robots, sensors, or similar hardware.
• Ability to debug across hardware and software boundaries (drivers, protocols, calibration).
• Broad integration ownership across firmware, software, and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain infrastructure to keep deployed robots reliable with low latency.
• Integrate robot arms, teleoperation rigs, haptic devices, and sensors into production software stacks.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across drivers, protocols, calibration systems, and hardware.
• Develop interfaces and hardware abstraction layers linking devices to data pipelines and ML workflows.
• Collaborate with hardware and ML teams to deploy new capabilities.
• Own integrations from development through deployment and ongoing troubleshooting.
