Job summary

Amazon is building the next generation software, hardware, and processes for fulfillment centers. The RDPI Global Engineering team seeks an Experimentalist to contribute to transformational innovation, vetting robotics technologies through rigorous test-to-fail methodologies and bridging design and field deployment.

You will lead experiments, analyze data, and design scalable lab infrastructure and tooling while partnering with cross-functional teams to drive technical vision and roadmaps for

Qualifications

• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust.
• Master's degree in science, engineering or relevant.
• 5+ years of experience in system development engineering, process engineering, or hardware design and validation roles.
• Demonstrated problem solving and experiment design skills.
• Experience designing and executing functional tests for hardware components, automated systems, or material handling equipment.
• Proficiency with discrete event simulation tools and modeling techniques for system performance analysis.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret test data and translate findings into design recommendations.
• Experience working in lab environments and building test fixtures, hardware mockups, or prototyping solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to cross-functional audiences.

Responsibilities

• Create systematic approaches and best practices for tackling complex problems across product development initiatives.
• Design and lead in-depth experiments to verify and validate design hypotheses, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
• Drive rapid prototyping and iterative testing to accelerate development cycles.
