Job summary

Amazon's robotics team is seeking a Lab Engineer II to own and manage test environments, fixtures, and lab equipment for prototype verification and validation. You will repair hardware, prototype, and calibrate motion capture systems while helping scale labs and mentor junior technicians.

You will deliver engineering artifacts, participate in lab process improvements, and collaborate with hardware and software test engineers to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

• Experience managing lab resources, equipment, and supplies.
• Bachelor's degree or above in STEM or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years in a technical lab, robotics, electro-mechanical, or automation environment.
• Experience troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems and lab equipment.
• Experience hardware rework, prototype testing, and lab operations management.
• Ability to interpret CAD drawings, SOPs, and technical docs.
• Safety-conscious handling of lab equipment per safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot test environments and lab equipment.
• Perform robot repairs and hardware rework to maintain readiness.
• Build, test, and validate robotic prototypes using lab tools and motion capture.
• Deliver test reports, work instructions, and lessons-learned documents.
• Identify improvements and help scale labs as new spaces come online.
