Job summary

Amazon Robotics is seeking a Software Development Engineer to build and deploy ML and CV models for perception in fulfillment workcells. You will work with sensor hardware, edge compute, and cloud infrastructure to deliver reliable intelligence at industrial scale.

You will collaborate with robotics teams to translate research into production, optimize latency and accuracy, and own multi-stage delivery from design to deployment and monitoring.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years in design or architecture of large systems.
• 1+ years of distributed software applications experience.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain ML/CV inference pipelines on edge hardware inside fulfillment workcells.
• Develop and optimize model training pipelines, including data collection, labeling, augmentation, and evaluation.
• Own end-to-end delivery of features from design through deployment, monitoring, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with engineers and applied scientists to translate research prototypes into production-grade systems.
• Integrate perception systems with robotic platforms and sensor hardware.
• Define and track performance metrics; investigate and resolve production issues.
• Contribute to system architecture decisions balancing accuracy, latency, cost, and maintainability.
• Drive operational improvements across the stack to support fulfillment infrastructure and robots.
• Hire and mentor other engineers on the team.
