Job summary

Lunar Outpost Inc. is seeking a Simulation Engineering Intern in Golden, CO to develop and refine simulation models for robotic systems.

You will work alongside full-time engineers on real projects, contributing to end-to-end simulation workflows from modeling to result analysis. The role requires studying computer science/engineering, experience with ROS2 and MATLAB/Simulink, and programming in C++, C#, or Python.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
Experience with robotics simulation tools and software, including ROS2 and MATLAB/Simulink.
Experience in control theory and state estimation.
Experience with programming languages such as C++, C#, or Python.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and collaboration.
Excellent communication and teamwork in interdisciplinary environments.
Strong organizational and time management skills under pressure.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain simulation models for robotic systems using mathematical models
Develop tools for analyzing simulation model performance and accuracy
Conduct simulations to test the performance and reliability of robotic mechanisms and software algorithms
Collaborate with software and hardware engineers to gather requirements and verify model accuracy
Analyze simulation data to identify and resolve discrepancies in system behavior
Document simulation procedures, results, and insights to guide future designs and improvements
