Job summary

SoftBank Robotics is seeking a Robotics Repair Technician to diagnose, repair, refurbish, and support autonomous robotic systems across the Americas. The role blends hands-on repair with customer and partner support to maintain robot performance and reliability.

You will work with AMRs and other autonomous platforms, performing software installs, firmware updates, and rigorous testing to meet safety and quality standards. Travel to support customers and events is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, CS, robotics, mechatronics, or relevant practical experience
• 1-3 years of robotics repair or related technical field experience
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated reliability, accountability, curiosity, and willingness to learn new technologies
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal
• Experience using diagnostic tools and basic electronic test equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and SOPs
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs
• Willingness to travel occasionally to support customers and events

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and system-level failures on robotic platforms
• Refurbish and retrofit returned robots, including preventative maintenance
• Replace and repair motors, wiring, sensors, batteries, wheels, and structural assemblies
• Support root cause analysis and troubleshoot hardware, software, charging, and navigation issues
• Install software, upgrade firmware, configure systems, and perform functional testing
• Complete post-repair verification testing to ensure safety and quality before shipment
