Job summary

Tutor Intelligence is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to be the first engineer on the scene for Tutor robotics on production floors nationwide. You will diagnose issues from logs, telemetry and video, fix bugs, and coordinate with our software and hardware teams to restore uptime.

You will work shifts with on-call responsibilities, handling urgent escalations, improving UI, and documenting solutions. Join a team that values calm, reliability, and rapid problem solving.

Qualifications

• Experience debugging production software involving hardware.
• Fluent in Python and navigating a large codebase you didn’t write.
• Strong Linux command-line, logging, and troubleshooting skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication under time pressure.

Responsibilities

• Own robot escalations during shifts, diagnose from logs and telemetry, and fix or escalate as needed.
• Share on-call nights with the software engineering team.
• Fix recurring issues and improve customer-facing UI and hardware error messages.
• Ship small, well-tested PRs into a large production codebase following team conventions.
• Track larger software issues with data and raise to the core software team with a clear write-up.
• Improve playbooks used by support teams to reduce engineer interventions.
• Use AI coding agents to investigate issues and write code.
