A cutting-edge robotics firm in Atlanta is looking for a Robotics Perception Engineer to lead the development of sensing and perception systems for autonomous mobile robots. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in building navigation and perception systems, with a strong proficiency in C++ and Python. Responsibilities include designing object detection systems and integrating various sensor modalities. You will work closely with a small team, making direct impacts on real-world products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience building perception systems for robots.
• Track record of deploying perception software to real robots.
• Experience with sensor calibration and multi-sensor integration.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain perception pipeline for autonomous robots.
• Integrate and calibrate sensors on production platforms.
• Debug perception failures on deployed robots effectively.

Skills

Strong proficiency in C++

Strong proficiency in Python

Deep experience with LiDAR processing

Hands-on experience with camera-based perception

Strong debugging skills

Excellent communication skills

Education

Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field

Tools

ROS or ROS 2
