Job summary

Glanbia Nutritionals Inc. at the Gooding Whey Plant seeks a Production Team Leader to oversee robot packaging operations and ensure safe, efficient production. You will operate Robot, Forklift and Tote Hoist systems, verify bag weights, maintain logs, and train new operators while upholding HACCP and food safety standards.

This hourly role emphasizes reliability, hands-on problem solving, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced dairy manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Cannot have any lifting restrictions.
• Must be certifiable on a forklift.
• Must be able to work weekends and overtime.
• Ability to read and write instructions in English.
• Excellent record in safety, attendance and punctuality.
• Must be dependable and trustworthy.
• Self-motivated with little supervision.
• Able to operate (or learn) necessary equipment.
• Ability to stand and walk the entire shift and climb stairs.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals usage.
• Weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Operate Robot, Forklift and Tote Hoist efficiently.
• Monitor equipment and adjust to produce top quality products.
• Check bag seals and ensure correct pallet stacking.
• Ensure correct weight of bags and totes.
• Wrap and rack powder for warehouse storage using a forklift.
• Pull cake check bags for lab analysis.
• Record number of animal feed bags filled.
• Re-run failed bags after passing metal detector.
• Clean robot area, warehouse and assigned areas.
• Restock bag room with supplies.
• Trouble shoot equipment to improve efficiency.
• Assist training of new operators.
• Update SOPs where possible.
• Check dates, run numbers and bag numbers.
• Assist packaging room with changeovers.
• Take readings and fill equipment logs.
• Monitor and report spills and safety hazards.
• Participate in HACCP and Food Safety practices.
