Job summary

Boston Dynamics is seeking a software engineer to build the tools and infrastructure powering the end-to-end iteration cycle for Atlas data collection, training, evaluation, and diagnostics. You will collaborate with researchers, ML engineers, data ops, and robot demonstrators to streamline data-to-deployment pipelines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development in robotics, ML infra, or related fields.
• Strong Python proficiency; familiarity with C++.
• Experience building internal tools, dashboards, or GUI apps.
• Familiarity with ML workflows: training pipelines, experiment tracking, dataset management.
• Experience with real-world robotics systems in industry, research, or academia.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, Docker, and job orchestration.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to ongoing R&D initiatives with Research Scientists and Infrastructure Engineers.
• Develop tools to query data, training, and testing performance metrics.
• Analyze and track failures in experimental robot runs.
• Work with robot simulation software to create scenarios, tests, and data collection tools.
• Build internal tools and platforms to accelerate collect, train, and evaluate loop.
• Develop software giving researchers visibility into policy performance, data quality, and collection gaps.
• Collaborate across hardware and simulation environments to support evaluation and rapid experimentation.
• Maintain and improve the code repository, including CI/CD, testing, and deployment.
