Job summary

Aquila Technology seeks an Electrical Engineer to join a defense-focused team near Lexington, MA. The role involves rapid development, integration, and evaluation of robotic and electromechanical systems, with hands-on design across software, hardware, and systems integration.

The team focuses on AI, sensing, human‑machine systems, and robotics. A highly hands‑on engineer will work in a small, multidisciplinary group on rapid R&D programs and demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience.
• Proven ability to design and implement robotic/electromechanical systems.
• Experience integrating software with physical hardware.
• Experience with microcontrollers/embedded computing platforms.
• Hands-on skills across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or C++ and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Work in small, multidisciplinary teams to rapidly turn concepts into prototypes.
• Design, prototype, fabricate, integrate, and test robotic hardware and electromechanical systems.
• Develop rapid prototypes using CAD, 3D printing, machining, and other techniques.
• Integrate software, electronics, sensors, actuators, and mechanical components into complete systems.
• Develop embedded electronics, sensors, actuators, and microcontroller-based systems.
• Design, develop, and maintain C++ software for robotic/electromechanical systems.
• Develop test methods and conduct system-level testing and evaluation.
