Job summary

Aquila Technology is seeking a Design Engineer to join its Lexington, MA team supporting a premier defense research organization. You will design and document mechanical components and assemblies, perform design calculations, and prepare manufacturing drawings with tolerances, finishes, and materials.

This onsite role requires strong CAD skills (SolidWorks), ASME Y14.5 GD&T knowledge, and the ability to work independently or with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Mechanical Designer experience.
• 5+ years of Product Design experience.
• 5+ years generating fabrication and assembly files.
• 1 year knowledge of ASME Y14 standards and ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• 5+ years in Mechanical - Electronic Packaging.
• 5+ years as Mechanical Engineer.
• 4+ years SolidWorks 3D CAD experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and document mechanical components and assemblies.
• Perform design calculations and create layouts with tolerances, finishes, and materials.
• Prepare engineering release/revision documents and fabrication orders.
• Support fabrication and assembly processes and testing as required.
• Collaborate with engineering staff to ensure design integrity.
