Job summary

ArcBest is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer III - Infrastructure to design and enable the foundational infrastructure for autonomous robotic systems, spanning source, build, test, simulate, deploy, and monitor. You will standardize CI/CD pipelines, establish platform standards, and enable large-scale SIL/HIL workflows across perception, planning, and simulation teams.

This role emphasizes scalable systems, artifact versioning, and traceability for safety-critical deployments, with mentorship

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with Linux-based systems and containerized environments.
Experience with CI/CD systems, build tooling, and artifact management.
Familiar with Bitbucket and Jira automation.
Practical experience with MLOps, including dataset and model versioning and deployment pipelines.
Familiar with ROS/ROS2 and real-time or distributed systems.
Experience with complex, hardware-integrated systems and safe deployments.

Responsibilities

Design and enable shared infrastructure supporting end-to-end robotics software lifecycle: Source, Build, Test, Simulate, Deploy, Monitor.
Standardize build systems and CI/CD pipelines across robotics software, embedded systems, and simulation environments.
Define and manage artifact versioning for software binaries, firmware, configuration, maps, and vehicle parameters.
Establish platform standards, reference architectures, and best practices used across product teams.
Enable large-scale SIL, HIL, and regression simulation workflows.
Integrate simulation results into CI pipelines with clear pass/fail criteria and reporting.
Support scenario-based testing and regression analysis.
Provide infrastructure to improve correlation between simulation results and real-world vehicle behavior.
Design and evolve infrastructure for ML models used in autonomy systems, including dataset versioning and model promotion.
Define standards for model packaging and deployment to vehicles with runtime monitoring and rollback.
Collaborate with perception and autonomy teams for safe model deployment and ownership of design outcomes.
Build and maintain pipelines for deploying software and models to development vehicles and production systems.
Enable vehicle observability through logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.
Support rapid diagnosis of field issues and feedback loops into development and testing.
Ensure traceability for safety-critical systems and support audits and certifications.
