Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a hands-on Technical Trainer to elevate robotics and automation skills across our facility network. You will design, deliver, and improve training for Fanuc and ABB platforms, PLCs, and safety practices, translating complex concepts into practical, job-ready skills for plant teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in robotics, PLCs, or a closely related technical role.
• Demonstrated ability to train and support Fanuc and ABB robotic programming, operations, troubleshooting, and safe recovery practices.
• Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting in a production environment.
• Ability to teach PLC concepts clearly to technicians and plant teams.
• Strong facilitation, coaching, and instructional delivery skills.
• Comfortable training directly on the production floor, in labs and classrooms.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instructor-led and hands-on training for industrial robotics platforms (Fanuc/ABB).
• Teach robot fundamentals: pendant navigation, programming, tool/setup, cell start-up and recovery.
• Train on robotic safety standards, interlocks, and safe work practices.
• Develop and deliver Allen-Bradley PLC training: ladder logic, diagnostics, downtime response.
• Facilitate train-the-trainer courses for internal certification programs.
• Provide electrical troubleshooting practices within robotic cells and production environments.
• Support development of technical learning pathways and competency-based assessments.
• Create practical learning tools: exercises, simulations, checklists, job aids.
