Job summary

FieldAI in Irvine seeks an Automation Engineer to enhance reliability and performance across deployed robots. You will work at the intersection of robotics, ML, and field operations, owning issue triage across autonomy and contributing to an ML flywheel for field improvements.

You will train and evaluate models, build datasets, and collaborate with deployment teams to validate and ship improvements on real hardware, sensors, and field deployments.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python with ML workflows.
• Experience with PyTorch for model development.
• Experience training, fine-tuning, evaluating ML models.
• Strong debugging across ML/robotics systems.
• Proficiency in C++ for production ML/robotics systems.
• Understanding of ML data pipelines and labeling workflows.
• Interest in robotics, autonomous systems, perception, prediction, or planning.
• Ability to work across modeling, data/labeling and deployment teams.

Responsibilities

• Own site performance and failure triage across deployed sites.
• Collaborate with data/labeling, modeling, and deployment teams to drive model improvements.
• Train, fine-tune, and evaluate ML models for new failure modes or site-specific use cases.
• Support deployment and validation of improvements on robots and at sites.
