Job summary

Meta seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer for the Robotics Hardware team in Redmond. You will drive DFMA across the mechanical lifecycle, ensuring actuators, chassis, and sensor packages are manufacturable from prototype to low-volume production.

You will collaborate with EE, SW, and firmware teams, lead DFMA reviews, optimize assemblies, and simplify parts while maintaining performance. Strong experience with CAD tools, manufacturing processes, and GD&T is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mechanical design engineering experience, focused on DFM/DFMA.
• Experience designing complex electro-mechanical, tightly integrated consumer solutions.
• Experience with CNC machining, injection molding, die casting, sheet metal, and additive manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Drive DFMA across the full mechanical design lifecycle from concept to low-volume production.
• Prototype and evaluate alternate manufacturing methods and processes.
• Create and maintain BOMs, cost models, and design guidelines.
• Collaborate with electrical, firmware, and controls teams for system-level manufacturability.
• Lead and participate in design reviews with internal teams and suppliers.
