Job summary

Meta Robotics Hardware seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer focused on sustaining engineering to own the health of humanoid robot hardware after release. You will investigate failures, implement design fixes, and drive improvements across fabrication and assembly teams.

You will work at the interface of design and shop floor, reviewing failures, updating drawings, and leading ECOs to production documentation. A strong CAD background and shop-floor experience are essential.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years in Mechanical Design Engineering with sustaining/production focus.
• Strong CAD proficiency with full drawing packages and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Experience on shop floor or build area and ECO/ECN workflows.
• Ability to perform root-cause analysis and implement design fixes.

Responsibilities

• Lead root-cause analysis on mechanical failures and document RCAs.
• Own corrective action processes and update drawings/specs.
• Develop and revise assembly work instructions and torque specs.
• Collaborate with test, reliability, and shop teams to validate changes.
• Initiate and manage ECOs to implement design improvements.
