Job summary

Field AI is seeking a Field Application Engineer to lead deployments of autonomous robotic systems in customer environments. This role serves as the primary technical liaison between customers, field operations, and engineering teams, requiring strong problem-solving and communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on robotics experience, proficiency in Python/C++, and the ability to develop deployment plans and procedures, with travel to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field (Robotics, CS, EE, Mechatronics)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex technical issues
• Hands-on experience with robotics platforms, autonomous systems, and related tech
• Programming or scripting experience (Python, C++, or similar)
• Excellent technical communication with varied audiences
• Ability to interpret field data and provide actionable recommendations

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers during deployment, testing, and operations
• Lead customer-facing engagements for deployment planning, implementation, and ongoing support
• Develop deployment plans, timelines, and technical implementation strategies for autonomous robotic systems
• Coordinate across engineering, operations, and customer teams to ensure successful outcomes
• Deploy and supervise robotic systems in customer and field environments
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, autonomy, networking, and systems integration issues in live settings
• Evaluate field performance data and communicate findings and risks to product teams
• Manage multiple deployments and technical projects with competing priorities
• Lead technical reviews, readiness assessments, and project status discussions
• Act as trusted advisor translating complex concepts into actionable guidance
• Document findings, deployment outcomes, and customer feedback for product development
• Identify opportunities to improve deployment processes and customer experience
• Support demonstrations and field testing activities
