Job summary

Field AI is seeking a proactive Field Application Engineer in Cleveland, OH to lead customer deployments of autonomous robotic systems including quadrupeds, rovers, and humanoids. You will bridge customers, field ops, and engineering to ensure successful deployments and ongoing support.

The role requires strong technical aptitude, project management, and excellent communication skills, with willingness to travel and work in dynamic field environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field (CS, robotics, electrical or mechanical engineering, mechatronics).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing issues.
• Hands-on experience with robotics platforms, autonomous systems, drones, quadrupeds, humanoids, or related tech.
• Familiarity with sensors, electronics, embedded systems, networking, and robotic subsystems.
• Programming or scripting experience using Python, C++, or similar languages.
• Ability to independently evaluate technical challenges and develop practical solutions in uncertain environments.
• Strong technical communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to interpret field data and provide actionable recommendations to engineering and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers during deployment, testing, and operations.
• Lead customer-facing engagements related to deployment planning, implementation, system performance, and ongoing support.
• Develop deployment plans, project timelines, procedures, and technical strategies for autonomous robotic systems.
• Coordinate and drive execution across engineering, operations, and customer teams for successful outcomes.
• Deploy and supervise advanced robotic systems in customer and field environments.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, autonomy, networking, and systems integration issues in live settings.
• Evaluate field performance data and communicate findings, risks, and recommendations to teams.
• Manage multiple deployments and projects while balancing priorities and timelines.
• Lead reviews, readiness assessments, and status discussions with stakeholders.
• Translate complex technical concepts into actionable operational guidance for customers.
• Document findings, outcomes, and feedback to influence product development.
• Identify opportunities to improve deployment processes and product adoption.
• Support demonstrations, field tests, and strategic customer engagements.
