Job summary

Zekelman Industries in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Utility I - FlexApply. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role sets up and operates high-speed equipment with robotic elements to form or cut steel to exact dimensions.

The position is full-time, on site, with a first shift (8:30am - 7:00pm) and pay of $25.00/Hour. Responsibilities include safety, calibration, quality checks, reporting defects, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Manufacturing or related industrial experience preferred.
• Ability to perform math with decimals and fractions.
• Experience with measuring devices (tape measure, micrometers, calipers).
• Ability to operate forklift, crane and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Observe safety and LOTO rules while operating equipment.
• Advanced setup and calibration of equipment.
• Inspect materials for quality before, during, and after run.
• Record and report deficiencies to supervisor/quality dept.
• Maintain tooling and perform PM as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement programs.
• Complete reports on production, changeovers, and scrap material.
