Job summary

Eka Robotics is seeking an engineer to own and improve the developer experience by designing, implementing, and maintaining our build system and related tooling. You’ll collaborate with researchers and robotics engineers to reduce friction, speed up builds, and streamline development workflows.

Responsibilities include evolving Bazel infrastructure, improving velocity and reliability in local and CI environments, and building internal tools with clear product-oriented thinking.

Qualifications

• Build and maintain internal build systems and developer tools used by engineers.
• Treat internal tools as products with users and clear UX.
• Deep understanding of dependency graphs, caching, reproducibility, and tradeoffs to speed up builds/tests.
• Proficiency with Python, Linux, shell tooling, and cross-language debugging.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve Bazel build system, rules, toolchains, dependencies, and remote caching.
• Improve build and test velocity across local and CI environments.
• Streamline workflows from dev setup to debugging tests or packaging training jobs.
• Develop internal tooling as products that reduce friction for researchers and engineers.
• Collaborate with researchers to measure impact and ensure reproducibility across platforms.
