Job summary

Eka Robotics in Boston is seeking an engineer to own and improve the development experience by designing, implementing, and maintaining the build system and developer tooling across Linux, macOS, and GPU-enabled containers. You will collaborate with researchers and robotics engineers to reduce friction, speed up feedback, and make builds reliable, with the aim of faster onboarding and fewer interruptions.

Qualifications

Build systems, dev tools, or CI infrastructure used by other engineers.
Treat internal tools as products with users.
Deep understanding of dependency graphs, caching, reproducibility and speed tradeoffs.
Proficiency with Python, Linux, shell tooling and cross-language debugging.
Ability to take ambiguous problems, work with users, and deliver solutions.

Responsibilities

Own and evolve Bazel build system, rules, toolchains, dependencies, and remote caching.
Improve build/test velocity and reliability across local and CI environments.
Streamline engineering workflows from setup to debugging a failure or packaging a training job.
Build internal tools as products to simplify common tasks and make failures understandable.
Collaborate with researchers and engineers to identify friction and measure improvements.
Ensure development environments and outputs are reproducible across Linux, macOS, and GPU-enabled containers.
