Job summary

Eka Robotics is seeking a Forward Deployed Robotics Engineer to serve as the on-site technical expert for robotic manipulation systems. You will support deployments, lead field diagnostics, and drive root-cause resolution to maximize fleet uptime across client sites.

The role emphasizes process improvement and exceptional communication, with travel 50%+ to lead deployments and demonstrations. A background in robotics hardware-software integration is essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Robotics, Mechatronics, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis on complex hardware-software systems.
• Experience parsing logs and writing basic diagnostic scripts in Python.
• Understanding how mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software interact in robotic systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for solo client engagements and handoffs.

Responsibilities

• Deployment & Bring-Up: Build, deploy, configure, and troubleshoot robotic arms, grippers and cameras on-site.
• Fleet Issue Triage: Manage fleet ticket queues and triage failures across hardware, software, and operations.
• On-Site Diagnostics & Failure Analysis: Perform inspections, run tests, and RCA to reproduce field failures.
• Telemetry & Data Analysis: Analyze telemetry and system logs to validate hypotheses.
• Cross-Team Feedback Loop: Advise R&D on tooling and diagnostics to streamline field bring-up.
• Process Improvement: Create standard diagnostic procedures and operational guides.
• Documentation: Develop deployment docs and maintain clear logs for diagnostics and escalations.
• Field Operations: Travel 50%+ to lead on-site deployments and customer demos.
