Job summary

Eka Robotics is seeking an engineer to own and improve the build experience, developing and maintaining our build system and developer tooling. You will directly affect build speed, reliability, onboarding, and overall developer experience across the team.

We value autonomy and a product-minded approach to internal tooling, with focus on Bazel, toolchains, caching, and cross-platform reproducibility. You will collaborate with researchers and robotics engineers to streamline workflows and deliver

Qualifications

Experience building and maintaining internal build systems, developer tooling, or CI infra.
Ability to treat internal tools as products with users and clear UX.
Deep understanding of dependencies, caching, reproducibility, and tradeoffs in speed vs reliability.
Proficiency across Python, Linux, shell tooling, and debugging across language boundaries.

Responsibilities

Own and evolve Bazel build system, rules, toolchains, and remote caching.
Make builds/tests faster and more reliable across local development and CI.
Improve developer workflows from setup to debugging a test or packaging a training job.
Build internal tools as products to simplify common tasks and reduce failures.
Collaborate with researchers/engineers to reduce friction and measure impact.
Ensure development environments and build outputs are reproducible across platforms.
