Job summary

Ultra is hiring a Data Operations Associate to ensure data quality for robot training and to support teleoperation pilots. You will review videos and annotations, provide feedback, and help improve guidelines while working with Autonomy and Operations teams.

This hands-on role requires attention to detail, clear communication, and a systems mindset, plus willingness to travel to Mexico occasionally.

Qualifications

• Extreme attention to detail with consistent judgment across large datasets.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to explain errors clearly.
• Comfort handling repetitive tasks and spotting edge cases.
• Systems-oriented mindset to identify improvements.
• Familiar with structured data, dashboards, and software tools.
• Good judgment and willingness to decide when guidelines don’t cover.
• Interest in robotics/AI and data's role in ML.
• Hands-on and proactive about improving processes.
• Willing to travel to Mexico monthly or bimonthly.

Responsibilities

• Review robot task data and annotations for quality.
• Provide structured feedback to annotation teams.
• Design and refine annotation guidelines and rubrics.
• Observe teleoperation pilots and coach performance.
• Evaluate pilot readiness and training materials.
• Monitor data quality and pilot performance metrics.
• Identify process improvements to scale quality.
• Collaborate with Autonomy team to align needs with training.
