Job summary
Amazon is seeking an Automation Engineer for its Byhalia, MS fulfillment network. The role focuses on maximizing equipment reliability and operational performance through proactive controls automation, troubleshooting, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
You will serve as the site expert for automation systems, maintaining PLC/PC controllers, motor drives, and MHE, with a flexible schedule including weekends or holidays as needed. Experience with Siemens/Allen-Bradley is preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or 2+ years of PLC automation experience.
- Experience with PLC-controlled automation and diagnostics in a production environment.
- Experience with robotics work cells and control systems.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the site expert for maintaining automation systems critical to operations.
- Understand, maintain, and troubleshoot material handling control systems and networks.
- Monitor MHE metrics and address system performance issues with cross-functional teams.
- Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians, locally and remotely.
- Perform and analyze building/system assessments to enhance material handling performance.
