Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a Cell Operator to manage pre-production checks and operations of automated adapters interfacing with the Symbotic system. You will ensure readiness, monitor throughput, and support uptime by handling rover bots and addressing system stoppages.

Responsibilities include pallet preparation, system diagnostics via HMI, and escalating production issues to leadership while maintaining safe operations in a high-demand environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience or certification in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing or equivalent field preferred.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience with mechanical automation systems, educational or training equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-production checks on automated adapters ensuring equipment is in ‘ready to run’ state.
• Process and monitor the flow of the automated storage and retrieval system through adapters to maximize throughput.
• Prepare pallets for induction into the Symbotic storage and retrieval system.
• Assess causes of system stoppage and return to service using HMI and manual intervention.
• Communicate and escalate issues impacting production to leadership.
• Contribute to system uptime through preservation, recovery, suspect removal, and bot health actions.
• Perform periodic system inspections including cleaning, lubrication, tolerance checking, component validation.
• Monitor radio etiquette and follow instructions from leadership.
• Perform rover bot upkeep (replace wheels, cleaning, sensors).
• Recovery of automated robotic vehicles in restricted environments.
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.
