Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a Cell Operator to support the operation and upkeep of automated adapters interfacing with the Symbotic system. You will help prepare pallets, monitor throughput, and troubleshoot using HMI and manual processes to keep the system running at peak performance.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree or equivalent, 1 year of experience with mechanical automation, and a safety-first mindset to work independently in a fast-paced environment onsite in Woodland, CA.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience with mechanical automation systems.
• Proficient in system inspection tasks including cleaning, lubrication, tolerance checks, current measurements and electrical checks.
• Ability to prioritize work to maximize uptime and throughput from automated cells.
• Commitment to safety and working without direct supervision.
• Ability to multi-task and perform multiple job functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-production checks on automated adapters to ensure readiness.
• Monitor the flow of the storage/retrieval system via adapters to maximize throughput.
• Prepare pallets for induction into the Symbotic system.
• Diagnose stoppages using HMI and manual interventions to restore service.
• Escalate issues impacting production to leadership promptly.
• Contribute to system uptime through bot health actions and recovery.
• Conduct periodic inspections including cleaning, lubrication, tolerance checks.
• Report out-of-spec conditions and perform root-cause corrective action.
• Adhere to radio etiquette and follow leadership instructions.
• Maintain rover bot upkeep including wheels, sensors, and brushes.
• Support automated robotic vehicle recovery in restricted environments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
