Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a Cell Operator to manage upkeep and operation of automated adapters interfacing with the Symbotic system. You will ensure readiness to meet performance targets and use HMI terminals to operate equipment.

The role sits in Customer Operations, driving daily robotic material handling, quality, safety and system performance with onsite customers. Strong safety focus and independent work style are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience with mechanical automation systems.
• Ability to perform system inspections including cleaning, lubrication, tolerance checks and measurements.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to maximize uptime and throughput.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-production checks to ensure equipment is ready to run.
• Monitor flow of the automated storage and retrieval system via adapters to maximize throughput.
• Prepare pallets for induction into the Symbotic storage system.
• Diagnose system stoppages and return to service using HMI and manual intervention.
• Escalate production issues to leadership promptly.
• Maintain system uptime through robot recovery, inspections and routine maintenance.
• Report out-of-spec conditions and perform root-cause corrective actions.
