Horizontal Talent seeks a CAD Technician to join a fast-paced hardware development team, creating precise mechanical drawings and 3D models for robotic systems used in fabrication and assembly.

You will translate engineering sketches into production-ready drawings, apply GD&T, and collaborate with engineers and shop teams to ensure accuracy and manufacturability. This role emphasizes meticulous attention to detail and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in mechanical drafting in manufacturing
• Proficient with 3D CAD for parts/assemblies
• Knowledge of GD&T in real-world manufacturing
• Solid tolerancing, fits, surface finish understanding
• Interpret sketches into formal drawings
• Familiarity with ASME Y14 and ISO standards
• Detail-oriented and accurate workmanship

Responsibilities

• Create accurate mechanical drawings and 3D models for parts and assemblies used in robotic hardware
• Translate sketches, concepts, and specifications into clear production-ready documentation
• Develop drawings reflecting tolerances, fits, surfaces, and GD&T principles
• Support manufacturing by considering CNC, sheet metal, 3D printing, and casting
• Maintain organized, high-quality documentation throughout design and production
• Collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams to ensure drawings are ready for use
• Contribute to revision updates and engineering change processes as needed
