Suncast Corporation in Illinois is seeking an Automation Specialist to apply high-level programming and robotics integration across plants. You will design, implement, modify, test, and provide post-integration support for Cartesian and 6‑axis systems.

Requirements include 5+ years in machine building or automation, ability to read safety rules and electrical schematics, and experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical. This full-time role offers hourly pay and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of machine building, automation, or manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, procedures, and electrical schematics.
• Strong written and verbal communication with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical.
• Ability to work in office and manufacturing environments, including standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain robotics across plants (Cartesian and 6-Axis).
• Assist with conceptualization, integration, programming, and documentation of robots.
• Develop engineering standards for robotics enterprise-wide.
• Develop and facilitate training programs for technicians and production personnel.
• Document, schedule, standardize, and sustain preventive maintenance for robotic systems.
• Participate in on-site and off-site automation runoffs.
• Participate in machine builds and project support.
• Stay informed of new technology and methods for this position.
• Support and comply with safety, quality, and housekeeping policies.
