Job summary

Suncast Corporation is seeking an Automation Specialist to support robotics systems across multiple plants. You will contribute to design, integration, testing, and post-implementation support for automated equipment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in machine automation, proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, and a strong ability to read electrical schematics. This role requires hands-on work in office and manufacturing environments with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or technical training preferred.
• 5+ years of machine building, automation, or manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, procedures, and electrical schematics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including interaction with managers, engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in basic mathematics, including percentages, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical preferred.
• Ability to work in office and manufacturing environments, including standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to work safely in manufacturing environments with varying temperatures, humidity levels, and moderate noise, including PPE.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain all forms of Robotics in all plants (Cartesian and 6-Axis).
• Assist with conceptualization, integration, programming, and documentation of robots.
• Lead and develop Engineering standards for robotics across the enterprise.
• Collaborate with Automation Engineering to develop training programs for technicians and production personnel.
• Document, schedule, standardize, and sustain preventative maintenance programs for robotic systems.
• Participate in on-site and off-site automation system runoffs.
• Participate in machine builds and project support.
• Stay informed of new technology, methods, and materials for this position.
• Support and comply with Suncast safety policies, quality standards, and housekeeping practices.
