Job summary

Procter & Gamble, Dayton DYMC, is seeking an Automation Maintenance Technician to maintain and troubleshoot autonomous robots, conveyors, and material handling systems in a high‑tech distribution center. The role includes preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and continuous improvement to maximize uptime and performance.

Starting pay is $27.70/hr with a raise to $28.80/hr after 6 months, plus day and night shift premiums.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical school, trade school, apprenticeship, or an associate degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of mechanical or technical experience in manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment.
• Familiarity with conveyors, pumps, compressors, motors, gears, bearings, automated equipment, or robotics systems.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision instruments.
• Understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems in automated operations.
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot autonomous robots, automated conveyors, and material handling systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and equipment calibrations.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and system issues to minimize downtime.
• Monitor equipment performance and use data to identify and prevent potential problems.
• Drive continuous improvement projects that improve reliability, quality, and efficiency.
• Share technical knowledge and help develop the skills of other team members.
• Take ownership of equipment areas and help design solutions that improve system performance.
