Job summary

S&S Activewear LLC in Lockport, IL is hiring an Assistant Automation Maintenance Technician (Tue-Sat) to assist with maintenance, repairs, and documentation for automated systems including Robotic P1200s, Pop Pick Stations and induction/decant equipment, under the direction of the on-site Automation Maintenance Technician.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, at least 6 months in a similar maintenance role, experience with mechanical and electrical maintenance, and the ability to read

Qualifications

• High School graduate.
• 6 months experience in a similar maintenance position.
• Experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
• Ability to read and understand documents written in English.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Willing to work overtime and holidays as needed.
• Willingness to learn new skills.
• Flexible and adaptable to changes.
• Ability to operate forklifts and powered pallet jacks.
• Basic computers / Microsoft proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on all automated equipment as scheduled and directed.
• Carry out inspections of robotic and facilities equipment to identify and resolve issues.
• Diagnose and repair automation equipment not functioning properly.
• Document and communicate all maintenance and repair activities.
• Manage spare parts inventory usage and provide weekly summaries.
• Adjust schedules to meet business needs and perform tasks beyond normal operations.
• Coordinate with operations to maximize equipment availability and uptime.
• Ensure safety and proper use of PPE and equipment.
• Safely operate warehouse equipment as required.
• Initiate work requests and seek process improvements.
• Complete required safety training and track activities in maintenance logs.
