Job summary

Flambeau, Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement advanced automation across our manufacturing processes. You’ll work on robotics, fixtures, and CAD tooling to enhance production efficiency and quality.

The role requires 2–4 years in plastics processing/manufacturing, knowledge of robotics and programming (Fanuc preferred), and strong communication and teamwork abilities. Travel up to 20% is required, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of robotics and programming, with Fanuc preferred.
  • 2–4 years of plastics processing/manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience with fixture design/build and ladder logic.

Responsibilities

  • Program Fanuc robotics (manual and offline programming).
  • Train technicians on robotics fundamentals.
  • Manage projects with timelines, flow charts, and team coordination.
  • Research and develop new technologies to improve production.
  • Create CAD-generated fixtures and end-of-arm tooling designs as needed.
  • Produce dimensional part drawings as required.
  • Collaborate with Project Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and external partners.
  • Support costing for new automation equipment.
  • Travel to customer/vendor locations and other Flambeau facilities up to 20%.
  • Stay current on new tooling, machinery, materials, and processing innovations.
