Job summary

Hoerbiger is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and production efficiency in a Delray Beach facility. You will troubleshoot FANUC robotic systems, optimize automation processes, and support continuous improvement across Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams.

The role requires hands-on FANUC programming, knowledge of PLC platforms, and experience with automation commissioning and safety standards to drive performance and quality improvements.

Qualifications

• 4 year bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Automation, or closely related discipline).
• 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferably hands‑on FANUC robot programming, troubleshooting, and automation support desired.
• FANUC Robot certification highly desired.
• PLC, Lean Six Sigma training/certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize FANUC robotic systems and automated production equipment.
• Support production by rapidly resolving automation, process, and equipment issues.
• Analyze manufacturing performance and implement improvements to reduce downtime, scrap, and inefficiencies.
• Modify and improve robotic programs, tooling, and process parameters to enhance productivity and quality.
• Lead root cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Support preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability initiatives.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and Operations standards.
• Partner with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement.
• Support automation upgrades, equipment modifications, and capital projects as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
