Job summary

Boston Dynamics is seeking an RMAC Applications Lead to head the primary engineering team at RMAC. You will guide the transition of Atlas into production-level automotive manufacturing, serving as the main technical bridge between Atlas Engineering and Product teams, with responsibility for data collection, playbooks, and site integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 5–7+ years in robotics operations, systems engineering, or field application engineering, with at least 2 years in a lead role.
• Deep understanding of robotics systems, including software stacks, controls, and electromechanical interfaces.
• Proficiency in Linux (Ubuntu), networking telemetry, and reading/interpreting Real-Time code.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or scripting for automation and troubleshooting.
• Mastery of JIRA for issue tracking and Tableau for data-driven monitoring.
• Exceptional ability to translate high-level R&D concepts for executives and operators.
• Ability to travel domestically and support multi-shift operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Applications/Integration Engineers to align with product strategy and automotive requirements.
• Develop playbooks for data collection and ensure QA standards for long-term data collection goals.
• Act as mission lead for robot health, uptime, and hardware utilization across the RMAC fleet.
• Oversee site integration and deployment, including secure network infrastructure and factory integration readiness.
